What I want today: Leather Shorts (yes, still).

As much as I love (and you know it) net-a-porter, I love it's sister site The Outnet as much. You probably also remember I love Chloé and See by Chloé... And I've been looking for a pair of leather shorts forever. So at first sight I fell in love with this leather shorts, and the price. I want them very, very much. I have so many outfits ideas for them, it's ridiculous.

Como ya saben, me encanta net-a-porter, pero también su sitio hermano (y de precios más baratos) The Outnet. También es probable que sepan lo mucho que me encanta Chloé y su línea See by Chloé... Y bueno, llevo una eternidad buscando shorts de piel. Obvio me enamoré a primera vista de éstos y ¡muero por tenerlos! Tanto que tengo millones de ideas para outfits con ellos a pesar de no tenerlos.

Miuccia Gatsby

What an amazing surprise it was for me to find out that Miuccia Prada, designer of Prada and MiuMiu, collaborated with costume designer Catherine Martin on the costumes for The Great Gatsby movie.

I love Carey Mulligan's makeup as Daisy Buchanan.

I'm super excited  for this movie, not only for the costumes but because Carey Mulligan is in it. You may, or not, know she is definitely my favorite actress, I love how she dresses and as a hostess at the Met Gala honoring Miuccia Prada and her exhibit she didn't dissapoint, dressed obviously in Prada.

Prada worked with some dresses from her old collections and revisited them with a 20s aesthetic. This collaboration is super exciting for fashion people. The other interesting thing? How the movie has already inspired collections based on the fashions form this era. This spread from WhoWhatWear is a great example.

What's not exciting is that the release date was moved from December to the next summer. Let's hope they don't push it back again! I need to see the clothes!

Fue una increíble sorpresa para mí el enterarme de que Miuccia Prada, diseñadora de Prada y MiuMiu, colaboró con la vestuarista Catherine Martin en la película The Great Gatsby.

Estoy súper emocionada por esta película, no solamente por los hermosos vestuarios, también por que Carey Mulligan sale en ella. Puede que lo sepan, o no, pero es sin duda mi actriz favorita. Me encanta cómo se viste y en la Gala del Met no fue la excepción, en Prada obvio, al ser anfitriona del evento en el que se rindió tributo a Miuccia Prada y se presentó su exhibición.

Prada rediseñó algunos de sus vestidos de colecciones pasadas (tanto de Prada como de MiuMiu) para adecuarlos a la década de los 20. Obviamente esta colaboración es muy especial para la gente que le interesa la moda. ¿Otra cosa interesante? La forma en que la película, incluso antes de estrenarse, ya está influenciando a los diseñadores para crear colecciones inspiradas en esta glamorosa era.

Pero bueno, siempre hay algo que aminora la emoción. En este caso, el retraso del estreno de la película que cambió de diciembre al próximo verano. ¡Esperemos que no se atrase más porque urge ver los vestuarios!

Dress Madness!

When I was little I would only wear dresses, my mom would beg me to wear pants and I wouldn't. Ever. Then puberty hit me and I hated dresses for like 10 years. And then... Madness happened.

Something happened when I moved to a place with real weather. When I moved to Savannah, I realized there were more seasons than semi-hot and semi-cold like in Mexico. I realized I COULD NOT wear pants in the Summer. So I started shopping, shopping, shopping.

So while I get a job where I can wear all my babies, I'll parade them here. Anything you ask, I probably got it. Polka dots? Got it. Denim? Got it. Vintage, new, unworn... There's a lot in my closet. Here you have some of them.

Cuando era chiquita, solamente usaba vestidos, mi mamá me rogaba usar pantalones para que estuviera más comoda pero nunca lo hubiera hecho. Entonces me llegó la pubertad y cambié a pantalones, durante yo creo que 10 años no me puse un vestido. Y de repente, enloquecí.

Todo cambió cuando me mudé a Savannah, donde en realidad hay estaciones, no como en México que hay solamente dos estaciones. Una donde medio hace calor y otra donde medio hace frío. Me di cuenta de que era realmente imposible usar pantalones en el verano, empezando porque no me subían. Fue entonces cuando empecé a comprar, comprar, comprar.

Pero bueno, mientras consigo un empleo donde pueda usar mis vestidos todos los días, se los presumo aquí. Lo que se les ocurra, probablemente lo tengo. De puntos, flores, mezclilla. Nuevo, vintage, sin usar. 

Y bueno, le dedico este post a mi amiga Cecilia que quiere que haga un inventario de toda mi ropa. La verdad es que me da flojera, y miedo descubrir mi grado de locura, para hacerlo. Pero quizá algún día.

It's been almost a month since my last post... And I should apologize (I've been obsessively watching the Olympics) but I'm too excited to do so. Have you seen the collaboration between Garance Doré and Kate Spade?!?!?! If you haven't, do it. NOW.

You know I LOVE the French fashion blogger and I love KS's quirky aesthetic... So this, for me, was a match made in heaven. You can read a small questionnaire in the brand's blog and see/buy the whole collection here.

There's been some controversy about the girls smoking in one of the prints, but if you know Garance and France you know how things are. I think everything is super cute and I will probably order something (the cheapest item, since I'm still unemployed, ugh, I HATE my money situation). So, what do you think?
